Alberto Pessoa

Alberto Pessoa (1919–1985) was a Portuguese architect who, together with Pedro Cid and Ruy Athouguia, designed the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (1969) in Lisbon — one of the finest Modernist cultural buildings in Portugal. The foundation's headquarters and museum are set in extensive gardens, with concrete, stone, and glass creating a serene dialogue between architecture and landscape.
