Hans Poelzig

Hans Poelzig (1869–1936) was a German architect and set designer who bridged Expressionism and Neue Sachlichkeit. The catalogue features the Babylon Kino (1929) in Berlin — a cinema whose restrained facade and elegant interior represent the sober, functional modernism of the late Weimar Republic. Poelzig is also known for his Expressionist interior designs for the Großes Schauspielhaus in Berlin and his visionary factory designs.
