Alfeld Architecture Guide

Alfeld is home to the Fagus Factory, designed by Walter Gropius and Adolf Meyer in 1911. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is considered one of the earliest examples of Modernist Industrial architecture — its glass curtain wall, wrapping the corners without structural support, anticipated the language of the entire modern movement.
