Heinz Mehlan was a German architect who, together with Wilfried Stallknecht, designed "Die Schlange" (The Snake) in Berlin. The Brutalist residential complex takes its name from its long, serpentine plan — a housing form that creates diverse living conditions within a continuous concrete structure.
