About Ludwig Hoffmann
Ludwig Hoffmann (1852–1932) was the Stadtbaurat (city building director) of Berlin from 1896 to 1924, responsible for over 100 public buildings including schools, hospitals, baths, and the Märkisches Museum. His work defined the civic architecture of Wilhelmine Berlin in a restrained, classically influenced style.
