Vladimír Machonin

Vladimír Machonin (1920–1990) was a Czech architect who, with Věra Machoninová, designed the Czech Embassy in Berlin. The Brutalist building reflects the ambitions of Czechoslovak architecture to participate in the international modern movement. The Machoninovi are also known for the Hotel and Department Store Kotva in Prague.
